Sam came to us in April 2021 after several months of limping and discomfort. After Sam’s x-rays appeared to be normal, an ultrasound was performed to find the source of Sam’s pain. Ultrasound revealed that Sam had moderate to severe bilateral supraspinatus tendinopathy, worse on the right, which seemed to explain the limping on her right front limb.
Shockwave was performed on both of Sam’s shoulders on a weekly basis for a total of 6 weeks. After about three sessions, Sam’s parents began to see some improvements in her comfort. After six sessions of shockwave, she was hardly limping at all!
In June after seven shockwave treatments, Sam was taken in for another ultrasound. The results were amazing. Her shoulders were almost completely healed. While Sam’s family gradually increased her walk times each week, Sam returned to us for four more treatments, and then was able to graduate! She is now back to comfortably enjoying long walks with her family.
Here is what Sam’s mom says about her experience:
“After limping for months due to a rotator cuff injury, we weren’t sure Sam would get better. The shockwave therapy rehabilitation along with plenty of rest was like a miracle. While we’re bringing our Sam back slowly, we are so happy she’s back to normal.”
